Levison Meltzer Pigott (LMP) has once again been recognised as one of the leading UK Family Law firms for Family/Matrimonial advising High Net Worth (HNW) clients by Chambers HNW 2020, the annual specialist guide from Chambers & Partners, which identifies the world’s leading high net worth advisers.
Based on client and peer research, LMP has been ranked in Band 2, meaning that it is regarded as being in the top thirteen specialist HNW divorce lawyers in the UK.
In addition, we are particularly pleased that all six partners have been ranked.
This is what this year’s research concluded:
Levison Meltzer Pigott is “among the top boutique firms dealing with high net worth family work,” says a family barrister, who adds that “they are very cost-effective for high-level advice.”
Another interviewee remarks that “the firm as a whole provides a client-focused, bespoke and joined-upservice from the receptionist to the lawyer’s assistant. It is clearly a team that is experienced, managed meticulously and whose focus is entirely on the client as an individual.”
Alison Hayes is “very sensible, tough and fights her corner very hard,” says a fellow family solicitor. She is noted for work involving complex asset structures and international trusts. A barrister says Hayes is “very good at international trust issues and the need to enforce in foreign jurisdictions,” adding that “she is the go-to person for enforcement against offshore trusts.”
Senior statesman Jeremy Levison remains active on high-value, complex financial proceedings. One family barrister describes Levison as “a formidable opponent who never shrinks from fighting his client’s corner,” and another says he is a “good, cunning lawyer and quite prepared to deal with difficult cases – it’s good acting for him.”
A client says Simon Pigott is “the voice of reason among all the ‘noise’ of divorce,” adding that “Simon cuts through all the jargon and the distress.” Pigott is also regarded as “a brilliant mediator” and has a highly active mediation practice. A source says he can “turn his hand to very complicated and highly acrimonious HNW mediations, and other things like international relocation where the mood is quite difficult.”
