LMP contributes to Chambers Family Law 2026 Global Practice Guide

The recently published Chambers Family Law 2026 Guide covers close to 30 jurisdictions. The guide provides the latest information on divorce processes and jurisdiction requirements, division of assets, spousal maintenance, prenuptial and postnuptial agreements, child custody and child support, and ADR.

LMP’s Jeremy Levison, Miranda Green and Alex Bartlett have provided the overview for the Guide’s key jurisdiction of England & Wales.

“This was the most natural chapter for us to write as this is the jurisdiction in which we operate,” explains partner Miranda Green. “The divorce process has indeed been streamlined considerably since April 2022 with the introduction of no-fault legislation. It is still, however, a hugely complex process and we were happy to contribute to this Guide believing that being better informed from the start will provide a positive opportunity for couples to work together to achieve mutually acceptable arrangements for the future.”

LMP supports Family Mediation Week 2026

Organised by the Family Mediation Council (FMC), Family Mediation Week (26 – 30 January 2026) is an opportunity to raise awareness of family mediation and its benefits to separating families.

LMP’s Managing Partner, Simon Pigott, who has been at the forefront of family mediation for 37 years, is in full support of Family Mediation Week:

“LMP has long recognised the benefits of Non Court Dispute Resolution (NCDR) and opportunities to resolve family disputes out of Court. As one of the first cohort of lawyers to complete family mediation training, I am heartened to see that Family Mediation Week has become firmly established in the legal calendar. The LMP team will continue to champion mediation and other forms of NCDR as a positive alternative to litigation.”

LMP Partner Miranda Green, who is also a trained family mediator, agrees:” Mediation is a discipline of increasing importance to both family law and LMP. We applaud the goals of the FMC campaign to ‘let more people know about the benefits of family mediation and encourage separating couples to think about family mediation as a way of helping them take control, make decisions together and build a positive future for their family.’”

The LMP website shares information about mediation, collaborative practice, arbitration, private hearings and round table meetings

LMP expands team with solicitor Alex Bartlett and office manager Natasha Maynard.

We are pleased to start the new year with two new team additions to Levison Meltzer Pigott (LMP).

Solicitor Alex Bartlett joins from specialist family law firm Jones Nickolds and Natasha Maynard has taken up the mantle of managing the firm’s administration from a previous career in immigration enforcement and working for the Met police.

LMP founding partner Simon Pigott welcomes both Alex and Natasha to the team:

“We are delighted to start 2026 with two new team members.

We welcome Alex who has chosen to further his career as a family law specialist with LMP.  We remain committed to being a boutique family law firm and so recognise that recruitment at Alex’s level is so very important for the future of the firm. If selected wisely, and we take this very seriously, today’s legal recruits, will potentially be the LMP partners of tomorrow.
We also welcome Natasha to the firm as she pivots her career to apply her skills and experience to take on this important administrative role. LMP’s success is about the whole team and we only function as we do with the stalwart collaboration of all our supporting colleagues.

We wish both Alex and Natasha a very long and successful career with LMP.”

LMP is a The Times Best Law Firms 2026

Levison Meltzer Pigott (LMP) is once again recognised in The Times’ list of the top 250 legal practices in England and Wales.

The research was carried out by Statista, an international market research firm, which asked lawyers to recommend the best law firms in any of 28 categories covering business, public and private-client fields. To make sure that the survey was fair, respondents were not allowed to choose their own law firm and technology and other scrutiny was put in place to prevent anyone from voting more than once. Those with the most votes from more than 3,900 respondents made it into The Times Best Law Firms 2026.

Managing Partner Simon Pigott is delighted with the recognition:

“We are pleased to be acknowledged in this elite listing, referred to as the “lawyers’ lawyers” and endorsed by The Times brand. This continued validation is a credit to the LMP team as a whole and we are grateful to each individual member for playing their part in our continuing success.”

The full list of 250 firms was published in last Thursday’s Times online and the full results can be accessed online here, by those who have a subscription.

LMP is once again a leading eprivateclient Top Family Law Firm

Levison Meltzer Pigott (LMP) has once again been recognised within eprivateclient’s ‘Top Family Law Firms’, the detailed annual guide to the leading law firms providing family law advice in the UK.

Now in its tenth year, the 2025 eprivateclient Top Family Law Firms includes, as a feature, “boutique” practices which have an almost 100% focus on family law.

Of the twenty-eight firms that feature in the Boutique listings just seven are in Tier I and we are delighted to announce that LMP has once again maintained its 2025 Tier I recognition, a leading position the firm has held from the very beginning.

Simon Pigott, LMP’s Managing Partner, says of this latest accolade: “When we founded LMP in 1998 as one of the very first “boutique” practices, our intention was to offer a more personal and bespoke family law service than that that was then available and for over 28 years we have adhered to that aim of having a partner-led and client-focused ethos. This continued recognition by eprivateclient of LMP as a top tier family law firm is a credit to the LMP team as a whole and we are grateful to each individual member for playing their part in our continuing success.”

The 2025 eprivateclient Top Family Law Firm rankings are based on a survey of over 100 firms in the UK. Where data was not provided, publisher’s estimates were made, which are clearly labelled on the rankings.

Eprivateclient is a leading website and news service for private client practitioners. Click here to read the boutique firms’ table. If a subscriber to eprivateclient, you can access the full article here.

LMP ‘s Simon Pigott in Spear’s Awards 2025 shortlist for Family

Congratulations to Simon Pigott who has been shortlisted in the ‘Lawyer of the Year – Family’ category in the Spear’s Awards 2025. This is the second time Simon has been successfully nominated; he also made the shortlist for 2023.

The shortlist has identified seven specialists who have met the category criteria of being a “family lawyer that has provided outstanding service” You can view the full shortlist on the announcement video published on the Spear’s LinkedIn page here.

Simon was nominated by his fellow LMP partners in recognition of his role as a founding partner of the firm and in celebration of the vision, honed in the firm’s early years and with partners Jeremy Levison and Alison Hayes. That vision, which was formed in the belief that there should be a more innovative and personal approach to servicing the needs of wealthy families requiring tailored family law advice, still rings true today. In 1998, Simon was a pioneer. He is now a well-respected leader of a bespoke family law practice which continues to thrive under his and his partners’ direction. As the Spear’s 500 highlights when describing Simon’s founding ethos: “It’s the sort of plain-speaking wisdom that has differentiated Pigott’s firm from much of the competition.”

The Spear’s Awards has been celebrating the outstanding contributions of wealth managers, lawyers and service providers to (U)HNW individuals for over a decade. The winners for 2025 will be announced at a ceremony on the 20th  November.
